Many German companies, including global famous brands and hidden champions, have a long legacy and they consistently follow best practices developed over the years with strong commitment on product excellence. Most importantly, cultural heritage and innovation have contributed to the great success of German companies which strive to sustain and develop in this fast-changing world. To gain an in-depth understanding of the business practices and challenges of this nation, the EMBA Class of 2019 undertook a field trip to Germany in June 2019. The trip was an integral part of a core course entitled “Global Business and Management Field Study.” This course gives participants the opportunity to travel outside Hong Kong and gain exposure to different national environments and business operations. Previous EMBA graduates have carried out field studies in major cities in China, Singapore, the UK, Korea, Japan, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, the US, Israel and Denmark.
