As an engineer by training but an executive by profession, I have learned to base my workplace decisions on a blend of engineering methodologies and managerial practices. Another turning point came when I embarked on the journey towards the CUHK EMBA, renowned for its world-class and made-in-Hong Kong status. I began this journey hoping to regenerate my management mindset and philosophy through a combination of the traditions and modernity of both China and the West.
Admittedly, I did not have the leisure to dedicate weekends to classes and evenings to reading and assignments until I had adapted to enjoying school life again. I found it was not worth skipping classes that were truly rewarding, thanks to dedicated professors and talented classmates fostering fun, insights, inspiration, achievements and leadership for the well-being not only of individuals and organisations, but also ultimately of society. What I acquire during this two-year study will undoubtedly nurture new perspectives for my other journeys ahead.
