The aim of Selected Topics in Business and Management, an elective course in the EMBA Program, is to expose participants to a wide spectrum of global, regional and local business and management issues. The course consists of an intensive study week in the local or international arena. A group of EMBA alumni and participants from the Class of 2017 completed their study trip at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom between 25 and 29 July.


With the theme of “Stakeholder Leadership”, the study trip included the teaching by senior faculty from the Newnham College and Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge. Seminars topics included “Strategic Leadership: Avoiding Decision Traps and Biases”, “Leadership”, “The Challenge of being a Trustworthy Leader”, “Corporate Governance Leadership: Fostering an Ethical Culture by Going Above and Beyond Mere Compliance”, “Evidence and Policy”, “Brand Building and Innovation of Chinese Enterprises”, “How Authority Structures Can Enable or Disable”, and “Leading Family Firms”. The participants also visited the River Cam, Trinity College, King's College and Cambridge Enterprise.
